GOVERNOR-ELECT ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER RETURNS TO ‘THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO’
TO CELEBRATE HIS VICTORY IN HISTORIC GUBERNATORIAL RECALL ELECTION

BURBANK, Calif. -- October 8, 2003 -- Arnold Schwarzenegger again surprised the audience at “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” when he walked onto stage at the end of Jay Leno’s monologue. Received with a thunderous applause and standing ovation, Schwarzenegger said he was “in the neighborhood” and wanted to thank Leno for introducing him at his victory speech Thuesday night.

This marks the first time Schwarzenegger has been on the show since August 6, 2003 when he surprised everyone by announcing his candidacy for Governor of California.

Other Tonight show guests included comedian George Carlin, political commentator Chris Matthews (MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews”) and music by Dido.
